Hotel Excelsior, Venice
The Hotel Excelsior is located on the Venice Lido and is the only true beach resort hotel in Venice. The hotel's beachside location allows guests to enjoy the city's famous sights in the morning and relax in one of the hotel's cabanas in the afternoon - with just a 15-minute complimentary boat ride between the two.
Dating back to 1908, Hotel Excelsior is steeped in history and glamour. Having attracted many famous faces over the years, the hotel hosted the first Venice Film Festival in 1932 and remains at the heart of this world-famous annual event.
The hotel has 197 bedrooms and 23 spacious suites. Many of these have gorgeous views of the sparkling Adriatic Sea or the Venice cityscape, others look over the peaceful, cool inner courtyard.
Ristorante Tropicana is the hotel’s restaurant and has an elegant indoor dining room as well as a large terrace overlooking the sea. Classic Italian dishes are on the menu – delizioso! The hotel’s three bars and beach bars are glamorous spots for drinks.
As a beach resort, Hotel Excelsior offers plenty to keep guests entertained. The Lido’s long sandy beach and calm waters are the place to relax, particularly in one of the hotel’s cabanas. Windsurfing, kayaking and pedal boating are offered off the beach and there’s a stunning pool, fitness centre and tennis courts, as well as a nearby golf course. During the summer, the hotel runs a kid’s club for children aged between 4 and 12 years old.
Hotel Excelsior has 10 meeting spaces, including a beautiful ballroom which looks over the water. Events can be as large as 500 theatre-style and up to 1,800 outdoors, and the team are brilliant at building exciting incentive programmes.
